We would prefer the centerpieces to be low because we feel they offer the least amount of obstruction and we want our guests to have a clear view of the dance floor. Is that possible while still fulfilling our vision and keeping to our budget?
It’s true that arrangements that aren’t short or tall enough can be obstructive. However, having only short arrangements will get lost in a ballroom that is either large (8-12,000 sq. ft) or has high ceilings (18-23′), both of which are typical for 300-450 guest South Asian Weddings. What’s helpful in deciding how to tackle this question is to consider:
How important is the overall impact and experience of the decor to you?
We generally try to find a middle ground. You can invest in taller, above-eye-level (i.e. unobstructed) centerpieces around the dance floor and the periphery of the room and have medium-sized, most cost-efficient (but impact-driven) centerpieces in the middle of the room. This helps achieve the best of both worlds, where you create the centerpiece and wow factor you’re looking for, and find a combinations that fits your budget. And of course, there is always the option to have Projector Screens as well.
Will there be enough space on the table for the centerpiece I’ve selected, table settings, and other elements?
If your table settings, favors, escort/place cards, and table cards are extra-large (for example if you are placing 8×10 photo frames at every seat), you may want to consider a centerpiece that takes up a small amount of real estate on the surface. This is also true for family-style dinners. Arrangements that are narrow at the base are usually your best best; they can always branch out at the top.
Do the centerpieces I like work in the venue I’ve chosen?
It’s always beneficial to choose centerpieces that work within your space. For example, if your venue has a traditional ballroom with classic, ornate touches, it would be to your benefit to select centerpieces that are also class-styled, like our Gold Mosaic Candelabras. The colors of your flowers can be customized to your vision, because ambient lighting usually washes the color of the carpet.
If I opt for large floral arrangements, can I re-purpose them somehow?
If re-incorporating decor between event is important to you, we suggest designing your events within the same theme. For example, if you would like to re-incorporate flowers between your Ceremony and Reception, then keep both events in mind when thinking about the style and design you want. Don’t worry; we will assist and offer ideas on how we can tweak details to make both events look beautiful and unique from each other.
Are the centerpieces ours to keep?
The flowers are yours to keep or offer to your guests 🙂 The rest of the centerpiece, such as the vase, candles, votives, crystal accessories, etc., are rentals, and will be returned to our warehouse after your event.
